The Burmon Bracket (Australian Patent 2013209390) has revolutionized the way LVL rafters are tied down to the top plate/beam. Once you have done your set out, screw fix the brackets to the top plate/beam. Then simply drop the rafter inside the bracket and fix it off using the Burmon screws supplied - job done. Builders who prefer to use LVL rafters over trusses until now, have not had available a tie down connector that has been specifically designed to tie down 45mm wide rafters. The Burmon Bracket is faster and easier to install and has a higher tie down capacity than triple grips and straps.

Compliance

The Burmon Cyclone Bracket is fully certified and tested for use in accordance with AS1684 Residential Timber Framed Construction.

Notes

  1. The Limit State Design capacities for the Burmon Cyclone Bracket resisting wind uplift are as shown in these tables. Design capacities have been obtained from laboratory testing and procedures given in AS1720.1.

  2. Wind Uplift capacities are baded on AS1720.1:2010 using k1=kt, for use in conjunction with AS/NZS 1170:2002 load code.

  3. The specified Burmon Screw must be used in conjunction with the Burmon Cyclone Bracket to achieve load ratings as per load tables.

  4. Cyclone Bracket (Australian Patent 2013209390) is certified by Registered Structural and Civil Engineers for the Australian Building Industry in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and Building Codes. Cyclone Bracket is structurally adequate provided it is installed and used in complete accordance with the guide on Burmon brochures and websites.
